POSTPONED: Wilson River Trail – Women’s Trail Party

Project Information:

This event is generously funded by Athletic Brewing Co.! We’ll be clearing brush (saws, loppers, grubbers), removing organic matter from the trail surface (grubbers, rakes), and possibly shaping the trail surface (grubbers). This is new trail construction, so the ground will be uneven and steep in places and there will be obstacles like logs, roots, and rocks.

Hiking information:

Our access point is not far from the project area, so the round trip hike should be less than 2.5 miles over unfinished trail. The walking surface will be uneven with some obstacles and there are some steep hillsides in sections.

You should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early.

What to bring:

• Plenty of water
• Lunch + snacks
• Gloves if you have them (loaner gloves available)
• Any medications or emergency supplies you may need
• Sunscreen + insect repellent
• A pack to bring all of this with you on trail

What to wear:

• Boots (Please wear something sturdy that will protect your toes from sharp tools. Tennis shoes and open-toed shoes will not be allowed for this event.)
• Work gloves (loaner gloves available)
• Long sleeved shirts and pants
• Rain gear, insulating layers, sun protection, etc. as appropriate for the weather
• TKO will supply hard hats and safety glasses

Directions:

Directions will be supplied to registrants via email 48 hours before event, along with an email to those interested in carpooling.
