Are you a land manager who oversees a trail system? Are you overwhelmed with overuse and maintenance needs? This two day class is catered specifically for you. Learning objectives will include best practices for trail design, development, and maintenance, as well as sessions on how to engage the local community through ongoing stewardship projects.
You will work together to create an analysis of a trail system that is not serving the needs of its visitors, taking a hands on-approach to re-designing the system. You will have a chance to put select subjects into practice by performing stewardship work on nearby public trails. Our goal is to provide you with fresh perspectives and new resources to take back to the trails you manage.
Lodging and learning lab will be provided by Trout Lake Wilderness Lodge. Please indicate in your registration what type of lodging you would like. There is ample tent camping available, as well as a few cabins which are available on a first come, first served basis.
