This event will take place at Camp Westwind near Lincoln City, OR.

Event Information:

This is NOT an initial saw certification course. This event is geared towards certified TKO sawyers that are seeking more experience and an opportunity to learn from each other. Attendance for this event is optional and you are not required to camp if you choose to attend. Feel free to sign up for both days if you are planning on camping or staying in lodging.

A current First Aid and CPR certification is required for a saw certification to be valid. TKO staff and volunteers cannot use crosscut saws or chainsaws unless they hold a recognized and valid sawyer certification, First Aid, and CPR card. Note: Please bring work gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, face coverings, and hand sanitizer- all your new normal trail work PPE. You may also bring your own tools and saws. TKO will provide many of the tools that will be used.

Project Information:

Camp Westwind has both crosscut and chainsaw opportunities. We will direct our focus on the needs of participants that sign up. There are many opportunities to cut logs and clean up from storm damage. Most of the work will be in the ropes course area.

You should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early.

Potential cancellation: We will not work in the field if the weather is not safe for our team.

COVID-19 Information:

**You will be asked to electronically sign the e-waiver for this event, provide proof of vaccination or recent negative COVID-19 test result, and perform a self-assessment health screening within the 24 hours preceding the event.** The crew leader for this event will verify that you have completed these requirements at the trailhead safety talk before the trail party begins. The registration confirmation and pre-event emails will contain further details and links.

What to bring:

• Food for the entire event.
• Plenty of water
• Snacks
• Gloves, safety glasses, hard hat
• Chainsaw chaps and hearing protection (only if chainsaw certified)

What to wear:

• Boots (Please wear something sturdy that will protect your toes from sharp tools. Tennis shoes are not recommended and may not be allowed.)
• Work gloves
• Long sleeved shirts and pants.
• Rain gear, insulating layers, sun protection, etc. as appropriate for the weather
• PPE

Directions will be supplied to registrants via email 48 hours before the event.

Accommodations:

Camping and/or lodging will be provided and more details will be supplied to registrants via email before the event begins.
