Killin Wetlands Trail Party (am/pm options) – PDX

Project Information:

We’ll be picking up where we left off in early summer on this project to divert seasonal runoff from the trail surface, where it can wash away gravel and leave ruts in the tread. To do this we’ll be digging ditches, placing check dam rocks, and spreading some gravel. Many hands make for light work, so invite a friend to register, too!!

There are restrooms on site, but there is not running water. The project area is open and grassy on a south-facing slope. There is an eagle nest within sight of the parking area, so we hang out afterwards with binoculars while we enjoy cold drinks and snacks.

Hiking information:

We’ll be hiking in just a few hundred yards from the parking lot to our project site. The trail is gently graded and topped with fine crushed rock. It offers great views of the wetlands, so feel free to bring binoculars for birding during lunch and breaks!

You should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early.

What to wear:

• Boots (Please wear something sturdy that will protect your toes from sharp tools. Tennis shoes are not recommended. Open-toed shoes will not be allowed.)
• Work gloves (loaner gloves available)
• Long sleeved shirts and pants
• Rain gear, insulating layers, sun protection, etc. as appropriate for the weather
• TKO will supply hard hats and safety glasses

Directions will be supplied to registrants via email 48 hours before event.
