2026 TKO Leadership Summit

This two-day event is the annual TKO Leadership Summit, open to folks who are:
- Current volunteer leaders, like Ambassadors, Crew Leaders, and Assistant Crew Leaders
- TKO Board members, Committee members, and advisors
- Other local community volunteers, Agency staff, and partners who are interested in learning our leadership structure – if you’re wondering if this is right for you, please email volunteers@trailkeepersoforegon.org to start the conversation.
This event gathers TKO staff and volunteer leaders to get acquainted, create alignment on strategic priorities, workshop upcoming projects, share lessons learned, and get inspired for a new season of trail stewardship, engagement, and education!
This year, we’ll talk about leadership and mentorship, exploring both our roots and our growth. How are we leading others? How are we mentoring and sharing knowledge? How do we maintain and sustain the roots of TKO while promoting growth and giving others opportunities to lead?
Details about the agenda are coming soon – stay tuned!
SUPPORT FOR LODGING COSTS: TKO recognizes that there are costs involved in a multi-day summit event for those who need to travel. As such, we have a limited budget to provide lodging stipends to those for whom travel costs might be a barrier to attending. To learn more, please email steven.moore@trailkeepersoforegon.org before February 27th.
ACCOMMODATION REQUESTS: TKO seeks to make our events inclusive of people of all backgrounds and abilities. If you would like to discuss potential accommodations to allow for your participation in this event, please click here to complete a short Google survey. TKO staff will then contact you to discuss options. Please note: available accommodations will vary by event and typically need to be requested a minimum of two weeks in advance. If you have any questions, please contact TKO Operations Director Steven Moore at steven.moore@trailkeepersoforegon.org.
EQUITY & INCLUSION: TKO seeks to make Oregon’s trails a place where people can go to connect with nature & one another. Not everyone feels safe or welcome in the outdoors due to issues like racism, bias, and hate. We commit to being part of the solution to this problem and to enacting change. Conduct, speech, or expressions that target any individual or group will not be tolerated by TKO.
PERSONAL SAFETY: Your physical and emotional safety is our number one priority. If a person’s actions or comments make you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, you may: interrupt directly, inform a staff member, and/or inform TKO staff via the post-event survey.
While TKO no longer requires masking/vaccination for our events, we do support those who choose to mask for their own safety. We ask participants to respect the health of folks who wear masks by distancing or wearing a mask while in close proximity.
