Support Oregon’s trails by serving on the TKO Board
Trailkeepers of Oregon’s annual Board application window is now open! We invite applications from those who are interested in broadening access to nature and Oregon’s outdoor places and who are passionate about TKO’s mission: protecting and enhancing the Oregon hiking experience through stewardship, advocacy, outreach and education.
Board service at TKO is a great way to develop leadership skills as you help guide the strategic direction of a fast-growing nonprofit centered on safety, fun, and service through community engagement on local, state and federal lands with public access.
TKO is seeking candidates with:
- Lived experience and competencies in equitable and inclusive growth
- Experience in nonprofit governance, communications, fundraising, equity and inclusion, financial management, archaeology, business development, and/or web development
- Special considerations for geographic representation from the Oregon coast, central Oregon, southern Oregon, or the Willamette Valley.
If your skills and expertise are outside those areas, share your interest with us. We want to hear from you!
In the last twelve months, TKO Board members have led historic growth for our nonprofit, as we’ve expanded the staff, led more volunteer events than ever, developed new trails, restored trails affected by wildfire, and added programming across Oregon.
Applications are being accepted here and are due September 15th. Board service terms will begin January 2024. You can learn more about the position on the TKO website.
Have questions about the TKO Board experience? Applicants will be invited to join TKO’s September Board meeting to learn more. You can also contact our team, and we’ll put you in touch with a current Board member who will be happy to chat with you and answer questions.
