Ready to become a Trail Ambassador?

Great! The next step is to take the Trail Ambassador training this course consists of four videos that cover:

• What it means to be a Trail Ambassador and the different roles you can take on.
• An overview of the safety protocols and logistics that are involved with volunteering.
• Keys for a successful day in sharing stewardship ethics with the public.
• The specific things you’ll need to know to get started in volunteering with TKO.

What you’ll need:

• About 5 minutes of free time per video 
• All together, this course takes a little less than an hour to complete. You can do them all at once or one at a time, depending on your schedule. 
• A notebook and a pen to take notes
• A willingness to be engaged with the training and to learn new things! 

After each video is a quiz. Take each quiz and once all four are complete someone from TKO will reach out about next steps.

Part 1: Intro to Trail Ambassadors

There are four parts to the Ambassador training and the journey starts here! Each part of the training is a video followed by a short simple quiz. You can find the link to each quiz below their respective videos. This first video will give you an introduction to the role of a Trail Ambassador.

Part 2: Safety and Logistics

Ready to learn more? Move on to the second video that covers some of the logistics around becoming a volunteer, as well as some important safety considerations. Be sure to take the Video 2 quiz when you’re done (link below the video).

Part 3: Sharing Stewardship

In the third part of the training, you’ll learn about the skills and key topics you’ll want to practice and understand in order to have a fun and impactful day at the trailhead. You can find the link for the video 3 quiz below the video.

Part 4: Final Details & Next Steps

Nearly there! This last video goes over the specifics of TKO’s Ambassador program. It covers logistics such as site set up, who your volunteer coordinator will be and how to get your background check done. Take the video 4 quiz when you’re done and then we’ll be in touch!
