The next generation of sawyers

These saws are singing!

The act of wielding a saw is not merely a maintenance task; it’s a profound connection with the environment, a dance with nature that captures the imagination. Recognizing the pivotal role of saw work in trail stewardship, TKO actively seeks to keep this art from alive and thriving by training emerging sawyers across Oregon. Through hands-on experiences, TKO endeavors to instill in all of our sawyers a sense of responsibility and pride in the vital role they play in maintaining and enhancing the trails that crisscross Oregon’s scenic wilderness.

It takes about $500 to send 1 sawyer through sawyer training.

However, all of TKO’s saw trainings are offered at free or steeply discounted rates for volunteers because our donors and partners help cover the costs.

Will you help train the next generation of crosscut sawyers and donate today?

A Message from TKO’s Executive Director

Happy Holidays Trailkeepers,

The TKO Legacy Builders end-of-year campaign is coming to a close on December 31st. We are so proud that this campaign is fueled by a grassroots donor base that builds a kick start of support for a new year. Our approach continues to be that everyone in their own way is a Trailkeeper – giving time, giving passion, or giving dollars. Each of these contributions amount to more protection and enhancement of Oregon’s hiking trails.
